The Victorian girl knew no other ambition to marry, and marry well.  When the Wedding Day has arrived, it was the day her mother had prepared her for from the moment she was born.  She would have worn a traditional bridal headdress, such as Toriana, with a dramatic corona of lace and orange blossoms. Then, as now, Toriana's wax orange blossoms symbolize purity, chastity and innocence.  Exquisitely delicate lace panels are gathered by antique wax blooms, rising up to the top of the magnificent vertical flat crown.  Lace trim curves along the top.  Mulitple layers of ivory edged tulle cascade down from shoulder-length to fingertips, creating a beautiful cloud of illusion from behind.  While we continue to restore her to her former glory, please note that Toriana does show some age appropriate dark spots and breakage on several of the wax flowers.  But this reminds us that nothing is perfect and beauty is greatest when flawed.  Email us at info@thefeatheredhead.com for more information and updates on her restoration.  A grander, more lavish Victorian bridal veil, you will not find.
